Kickstarter Highlights 16th October

Kickstarter Highlights Calico, Hierarchy, Rome and Roll Necronomicon Tiny Epic Dinosaurs
Hold onto your wallets, because it's yet another week Kicksatratre craziness ready for you to splurge your hard-earned (or ill-gained, we don’t judge) cash on.  This week we have a heavy euro roll & write and the latest game in the Tiny Epic series. We also have the internet staples of Loftcraftian horrors and cats.

Rome & Roll: A roll and write Eurogame

Kickstarter Highlights - Rome and Roll

No.  his isn’t “another roll & write game” what makes this different from all the others can be summed up in just three words.
Big
Davie
T
Or, to be more eloquent, this is heavy roll and write game, designed by Dávid Turczi & Nick Shaw is firmly encamped in the euro spectrum of games, it simply makes use of the mechanic.

With asymmetrical character classes, each of which presents new and different avenues of strategy to explore.  There are also multiple paths to victory depending on the type of city you are building which includes actual player conflict.  I know, in a roll & write game!  Player interaction.  It’s almost unheard of.

Campaign ends 4th November

The Necronomicon Gamebook - Carcosa

Kickstarter Highlights - The Necronomicon Gamebook - Carcosa

An interactive literary game, much in the style of a choose-your-own-adventure with new twists, will allow players to explore, in a careful and detailed homage to seven classic Eldridge horror short stories including The King in Yellow, Nyarlathotep, The Haunter of the Dark,  and The Whisperer in Darkness.

All you need is the book, pencil and a six sided die.

Campaign ends 14th November

Hierarchy

Kickstarter Highlights - Hierarchy

I do love a Button Shy Game and this is number 56 in their Wallet Game Series of super small games.

Consisting of just 14 cards the game is as simple as it is devious.  Both players get 7 cards which are displayed face up on the table, players then take turns playing possible cards or tweaking the conditions of played cards until your opponent can't play any more cards.  When you can't put down a card; you lose.

You can get a print and play version for just £3 or a retail version for £10, but act quickly this campaign ends soon.

Campaign ends 19th October

Calico

Kickstarter Highlights - Calico

A game that deftly stands in both the gateway camp and the experienced gamer camp.  Calico is a seemingly simple and elegant tile placement game about sewing the perfect quilt for cats.

With simple rules, fantastic presentation and a very accessible theme Calico is a runaway success and is already over 1000% within days of launching.

Campaign ends 7th November

Tiny Epic Dinosaurs

Kickstarter Highlights - Tiny Epic Dinosaurs

I've not played any of the Tiny Epic games but I find it very hard to pass on Tiny Epic Dinosaurs.

It's a euro style farming worker placement with dinosaurs.  Stuff it.  Backed.
